Although the origins of Versace don't date as far back as other luxury brands including Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Dior, this hasn't stopped the Italian fashion label from building up a top-tier reputation and becoming instantly recognisable by consumers worldwide. Founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace, the brand started off as a small boutique in Milan selling premium, exclusive garments for the affluent. But it wasn't until the early 90's that Versace truly entered the spotlight - designing bespoke outfits for various high profile celebrities including Michael Jackson, Elton John and Madonna. The distinctive Versace Medusa Head serves as the brands iconic logo. Despite the minor changes that have been made to Versace's logo over the years, the Medusa Head has for more or less remained unaltered. References to the brand have been made numerous times in rap and hip hop, from "Versace" by the Migos and the 2 Chainz track "It's a Vibe".
